Madeline
Olive
Stripe

Photo to come of our new foster Stripe.
Arrived January 24, 2009...

Madeline - a very shy dog recovering from a feral mindset. Madeline has a very short coat and will need to be an inside dog. She has shown signs of wanting to be a sled dog but is still working through her recent life changes. She walks very well on a leash and responds very well to commands.

Currently she has been working on crate training and getting used to inside life with people.

Olive - a very friendly and outgoing team dog with a thick winter coat. Olive is a hard worker and while not the fastest dog on our team she works very hard to make up for it. Olive came to us a little rough and skinny but has really blossomed during her time here. She is currently going through her winter shed and we can already see her beautiful shinny coat underneath.

Olive would be best in an active home, preferably with children who can play with her for most of the day, or a working mushing home. She loves to interact with people and though she can be a bit of a jumper she is very smart and wants to please. It wouldn't take her long to settle into a new home and learn house manners.

Stripe - Stripe is a very shy dog who we are working with to get him out of his shell. He loves other dogs and wants to play but is not as comfortable around people. With a bit of work we hope to get him to come around shortly.

Stripe has had some health issues that we are currently working out with the vet. We are not certain on his future as a working sled dog and he may need to be a house pet only. Check back with us soon for an updated report on Stripe after his next vet visit.

Our kennel has specialized in rehabilitating shy and malnourished working huskies since 2003.

Our first rescues were taken from a severely over populated dog yard and were in desperate need of food and companionship. They received loving care at our kennel and quickly grew back, hair, muscle and developed a stronger mental attitude about their new lives. After it was time for their placement into new homes we couldnt stop answering the call to save more lives...

The pictures below of our past rescues, now in loving homes, only offer a brief glimpse into the lives of these special creatures but we hope, through their smiles, you will see what makes all the
hard work so worth doing.

Most of our rescues are fostered through the Fairbanks Animal Shleter Foster program.
